The Brittany, Sea Point

Scope of work

The Brittany is a large residential complex in Sea Point that needed a full exterior restoration: waterproofing of the flat roofs, balconies, and parapets, plus a complete repaint of the facade.

• All flat roof areas were stripped of failed waterproofing and cleaned back to the structural slab before the new system went on.
• A geotextile membrane was laid across all roof and balcony surfaces with the correct overlaps, followed by a full five-coat acrylic waterproofing system.
• All parapet walls and wall tops were sealed with a fibre-seal waterproofing system to stop water tracking into the wall cavities.
• The full building exterior was high-pressure cleaned, with all cracks and spalled concrete found and repaired before painting.
• A primer coat was applied to the entire facade before two topcoats of premium exterior paint, to the supplier's specified system.
